Baptism
Baptisms take place through most of the year.
Please see Fr. Bogdan or Fr.Slawek for an appointment.
Baptism is a Sacrament that cleanses us from original sin. Through Baptism we become a member of the Catholic church.
Baptism is necessary as Jesus told us 'Unless a man is born again through water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God'. (John 3:5).

Confession/Reconciliation
First Confession/Reconciliation/Penance take place as part of the First Holy Communion programme, see below.
For those who have already received this sacrament for the first time, we should continue to receive this sacrament. God shares His love for us through his forgiveness of our sins.
Confession/Reconciliation is available on Saturdays at St.Thomas More Church 9.30 am -10.00am or at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 5-6pm
The Sacrament of Penance is where a priest forgives mortal or venial sins through the Power of God, when he gives absolution. It consists of four parts: contrition (being truly sorry), confession, penance and absolution.
Much more detailed information can be found in Fr.Slawek's book, Encountering Mary at La Salette, available from the Church repositories. Sheets are also available in the Church porches.

First Holy Communion
Registration for First Holy Communion is open during the month of October for children in school year 3 and above.
During this time, please make an appointment to see Fr.Bogdan.
In the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist, the bread and wine offered at Mass become consecrated. This means that, through the power of the Holy Spirit, they become the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.
In order to receive the Blessed Sacrament worthily we should be in a state of grace, which means we should be free from mortal sin.

Invitations for Confirmation will be given in the newsletter in the Autumn, for those 14years and above who have made their First Holy Communion. During this time, please make an appointment to see Fr. Leszek.
The Sacrament of Confirmation is when we are sealed by the gift of the Holy Spirit, renew our baptismal commitment and become strengthened in faith to be a witness to Christ and to share his mission

Marriage
The Sacrament of Marriage may be celebrated through out the year. Please contact Fr.Bogdan for an appointment.
The Sacrament of Marriage gives a special grace, to enable those who receive it worthily, to love and be faithful to one another, to bring up their children knowing God and bear the difficulties of their state.
